How to and rules
Rummy Rivals
Build sets and runs, score the cards you put on the table, and empty your hand before those held points turn against you.
Each player starts with 13 cards and one discard card is flipped up.
Four suits run from 1 through 15, plus one Misty Joker in the deck.
Meld and layoff points count up. Cards left in hand count down.
Turn Flow
Draw, play, discard.
- Draw one card from the deck or take a card from the discard pile.
- Play melds or layoffs after drawing. You can play more than one legal group if your hand allows it.
- Discard one card to end your turn, unless you emptied your hand by melding.
A round ends when a player empties their hand or when the draw pile is empty.
Melds
Minimum 3 cards.
Set
Three or four cards with the same value. Natural cards in a set must use different suits.
Example: 9 of Hearts, 9 of Clubs, 9 of Spades.
Run
Three or more consecutive cards in the same suit. Values can run from 1 through 15.
Example: Diamonds 6, 7, 8, 9.
Layoff
After any meld is on the table, you may add legal cards to your melds or the CPU's melds.
Example: add Hearts 10 to a Hearts 7-8-9 run.
Discard Pile
Any visible card can be taken.
You may take the top discard or reach deeper into the discard pile. When you take a deeper card, every card above it comes into your hand too.
Taking the top discard is a normal draw. If you reach below the top card, the exact discard card you chose must be used in a meld or layoff before you are allowed to discard.
Misty Rules
Wild, but anchored.
As a wild card
Misty can fill missing values in a run or stand in for a missing suit in a set.
Needs natural cards
A meld cannot be made only from Misty cards. At least one natural card must anchor it.
Summoning
Demo games allow one free Misty per round. Exhibition and Ranked games allow one free Misty per game, then paid Misties starting at 100 calicoins and doubling each time. Tournament games allow the free Misty only.
Scoring
Every point is literal.
Number cards score their face value. A Misty left in your hand counts as 15 held points.
